It’s been a month now since our Vacation to Italy, and I’m having some serious withdrawals. Venice was such a beautiful and magical place that I will never forget. For our second and last day in Venice we just went roaming around the streets. In all the guidebooks it mentions to just Get Lost in Venice. We did, and we highly recommend it! We found adorable little parks, tons of Gelato + delicious Pizza by the slice. I am usually Gluten Free in the states, but decided to not be while on holiday in Italy and I enjoyed every second of it! The Gelato in Italy is to die for. I don’t really eat ice cream ever but Gelato is very different. I found myself craving it more than just once a day. And okay so maybe I ate it more than once a day. Don’t judge. I’m not a huge fan of birds, let alone pigeons. But I will say that feeding the pigeons in St. Marks Square is a must do for all. At one point there were like 12 pigeons on me and I couldn’t stop laughing.
Our AirBnb couldn’t have been more perfect! We had a beautiful balcony view with the canal running through it and the flat had light just flooding in. We booked through Airbnb for every city in Italy and are so thankful we did. Hotels and resorts are lovely with their room service and waitstaff, but having your own flat with a kitchen is absolutely priceless. We went to the Rialto Fish Market and ended up preparing one of our own meals. It made our stay feel more authentic and as if we were living in Venice, rather than just vacationing there. We picked our places very carefully trying to stay true to each cities charm.
I’m such a sucker for stripes and skirts, so put them together and bam, I’m set! This ended up being one of my favorite pieces on this trip because it comfortable but still really girly and depending on the weather can be layered as well. If it hadn’t been for us walking everywhere, I would’ve loved to pair this look with a simple pair of patent leather nude pumps. Unfortunately, comfort won the battle and I went with sandals. This purse is the perfect accent piece! My Mum bought me this and a leopard one for my Birthday and I just couldn’t wait to put it to some good use in Venice! I love that you can see into it, even though while traveling that may not be the best idea! I kept all my very important items and documents with my husband. (He insisted, since on our flight over I lost my boarding pass!) Venice was such a magical city and am dreaming of it daily… so until next time my beautiful floating city.
